Call for Nominations
The Population Association of Singapore (PAS) invites nominations for the Early Career Award. This Early Career Award recognizes and honors individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to Population Studies in Asia, particularly to Singapore population, within 10 years of completing their doctoral degree.
The award includes a plaque and S$1,000. The awardee will be honored during the PAS 2024 Annual Meeting. The selected awardee is kindly required to attend the conference to receive the award.
Nomination deadline for this award is April 15, 2024.

ELIGIBILITY DETAILS
Nominee:
Members of this PAS Awards Committee are not eligible to be nominees for this award.
Former recipients of this Award are not eligible.
Nominees must be within 10 years of their terminal degree as of 31 December in the award year.
Nominees are required to be a member of PAS at the time of nomination
Nominees not selected for the award in the year of the initial nomination are kept on file for automatic consideration again the next year, without requiring re-nomination. At the time of the Call for Nominations each year, nominators of previous unsuccessful nominations have the option of updating and resubmitting their earlier nominations.
Nominator:
Self-nominations are not accepted.
Nominators are not required to be members of PAS.
Members of this PAS Award Selection Committee may add additional candidates at their discretion.
NOMINATION INSTRUCTIONS
An Award Selection Committee will be formed to select candidates for the award each year. The Committee comprises of the PAS President plus 2 other senior association members.
Nominators are to submit their nomination to the Chair of the Award Selection Committee via the link below, or emailed to socywj@nus.edu.sg.
The nomination packet should include the following:
Nominee's curriculum vitae/bio.
Nomination letter - The letter should include a brief (not exceeding 600 words) description of the candidate's achievements and eligibility. The letter should identify the major contributions on which the nomination is based and explain why the nominee is especially qualified to receive this award.
Graduate Certificate for the nominee’s terminal degree
Deadline for all nominations: April 15, 2024

Evaluation Criteria
The award selection committee recognizes the multi-dimensional nature of intellectual contributions and will pay attention to a variety of scholarly contributions, including, but not limited to:
Emerging body of significant and high-impact research in the form of publications that are likely to make a significant impact on theory, research, and practice.
Evidence of growing intellectual leadership in the discipline as reflected in editorial appointments, particularly of leading journals.
Other evidence of intellectual contributions that provide a platform for future success.
Nominators are encouraged to provide the award selection committee with specific indicators of the nominee's contributions in these and other categories.
